Stan continues to be generalist at heart and possesses a wide range of design interests and skills. He has designed and crafted furniture, sculptural installations, and was a senior designer for Charles Pollock International. He was a founding partner of Rickel Jackson Design creating exhibits and products for Anchor Hocking, Tiger, Mattel, Farberware, Conair, United Chair and George Kovacs.
Stan is also a design educator, teaching at Pratt Institute and Syracuse University prior to joining Rochester Institute of Technology’s Industrial Design Program in 2001.
At RIT Stan teaches both the Graduate and Undergraduate Students. He also served as the Industrial Design Department Chair and as the Graduate Director, leading them to be one of the top nationally and internationally ranked industrial design programs. In 2009, Design Intelligence named Stan as one of the most respected design faculty in the US.
Stan continues teaching at RIT. His areas of current research and interest include, inclusive communities, Inter-disciplinary education, emotion and abstraction, and most importantly, helping to educate of the next generation of brilliant designers.
